Whether it’s reporting, copy editing or layout, I have worked in many areas of the newsroom. Working at The Parkersburg News and Sentinel, a daily newspaper in West Virginia, I often wrote articles, took photos myself, edited those photos and laid the story out on the page. This all-inclusive job I did daily for nearly three years has prepared me to excel under the pressure of deadline, either writing an article or laying out the front page. I have written articles on a variety of topics from religion to business. This experience has helped prepare me to tackle everything from breaking news to an in-depth feature.
I am currently a freelance writer in Pittsburgh. I have been published by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, The Valley News Dispatch, The Allegheny Front, The Pittsburgh Business Times and The South Pittsburgh Reporter. To view my work go here. I have my MA in journalism and mass communication from Point Park University (2015). I have my BA in journalism from Marietta College (2010).
